A Good Effort for the Saturn Shooter
I will also say that the graphics are better for the Arcade version like kit kit stated earlier. The Saturn Version could've been much better. I am not sure what the game developers were thinking at that time, but it's too late to do something about it now. I bought the Japanese version from a small game store back in '98 or '99. Then I bought a Brand New Japanese House of the Dead on here for $10. Lucky me. The Japanese version would be the best to get ahold of because the U.S. version is rather expensive. I saw the PAL version sell for a reasonable price months ago, but I missed on that. The PAL version can be rather expensive too. I've seen it go for about 140 GBP($70) before the last one I mentioned. I still enjoy playing the game. Be sure to pick it up if the price is right. Wish I would've bought it Brand New from Toys R Us when I had the chance. *sighs*

Flawless Victory
Mortal Kombat II is a decent game for Sega Game Gear. You don't get all of the characters, but the game still gets the job done. Sub Zero, Scorpion, Mileena, Kitana, Liu Kang, Jax, Shang Tsung, and Reptile are among your selection of kombatants. You can fight Smoke and Jade if you do what is needed. This makes up for Rayden and Johnny Cage being left out. For the first time on Game Gear, you get to do a Pit Fatality. The graphics are nice for what the Game Gear has to offer and the music isn't bad either. The finishing moves are slightly different for Reptile, Liu Kang and Jax though. All in all, the fatalites are cool. Sub Zero's Deep Freeze is my favorite of them all. Kintaro and Shao Kahn definitely put up a fight in this version. If you enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat game, be sure to add this to your collection. This one gets the job done. I won't even go into details about MK3 for Game Gear(read my review about it if you choose). MK II is for sale on eBay for a decent price. Pick your copy up today.

A Disgrace To The Arcade Classic
Double Dragon is a Beat 'em up game for the Sega Game Gear. You will play as Billy through various levels fighting enemies until you reach the boss at the end of the stage to avenge the death of his brother Jimmy. The folks at Virgin decided to change the story of the game. What were they thinking???? The graphics are awful. While everything looks really nice as a whole, the animation is crap, and while good graphics don't make a good game, bad graphics certainly deter from a good one. The same goes for the music. Sound effects are either non-existent or pure garbage. Very little work was done in this department. I found the game to be very challenging and I never managed to beat it. The enemies get you with cheap shop after cheap shot and they are too quick for comfort. Making them alomost impossible to beat. The Game Gear is very capable of of dishing out a better conversion of this game. Instead we get a rewritten, rehashed, and reworked disasterpiece. Double Dragon is no match for Streets of Rage on Game Gear, so if you're looking for that same experience, you will be utterly disappointed. I bought this because I wanted to try it out and as a collector's item. This game rarely shows up on here and can cost you some serious cash unless you get lucky and find a deal. Get it at your own risk or if you're a serious video game collector like myself.
