The seal between the 2 parts does not contain the steam. Item doesn't work.
3 of 3 found this helpful This product relies on a silicon seal to hold the top on when the water is boiling and producing steam. Understandably, when the steam pressure builds up in the distiller, it blows the top section off and the steam goes out into the room without producing any distilled water.
What this product needs is an inbuilt clip mechanism to keep the lid on while the distiller is making steam so that the steam will enter the cooler section and become distilled water.
Not a good product at all.
