Great Lens for the Money
2 of 2 found this helpful If you can get one of these at a reasonable price ( $350USD), and you have at least occasional use for it, you will be generally pleased.
Being mirrored optics, there will be some "doughnut" lighting effects at the extreme peripheries that could be apparent if the full image is enlarged significantly. Other than that, these are superb lenses!
These are mainly for tripod use. I have, however, been very successful shooting freehand with these as long as I am taking action shots with ISO400.
Just make sure the one you get has no scratches on the optics or coatings, has no internal fungus, and has no (or at least very minimal) internal dust. Try to get one with complete with the external case and lens filter set. You would also be advised to avoid the early "C" models.
