Perfect to fill in the low end
1 of 1 found this helpful I don’t normally leave reviews, but if this helps people make their decision then it’s worth it. I have a 2017 Mazda 6 and the factory speakers were nothing to write home about. So I upgraded the door speakers to Pioneers and put some 3.5” Kickers in the dash. Sound quality went way up but also went from muddy to too much high-end. I’m just a guy that likes music - I don’t need to rattle the windows in the neighborhood. I just needed something to balance it out, and this unit totally did the trick. It fit perfectly under my driver’s seat (I used adhesive Velcro strips to secure to the carpet) and I tapped into the speaker leads coming out of the module behind the glove box and used those to feed the sub. If you’re careful, you can hide all the wiring and no one will ever know it’s there except for the added bass. I was even able to mount the adjustment knob inside the storage cubby between the seats, which avoids the bright LED issue others have mentioned. If you know a little bit about wiring, take your time, and remove the seat to make things easier you should have no problem. I did have to drill a hole in the firewall to run the hot lead from the battery because I didn’t want to tap into the harness and I wanted to fuse it separately - there’s room in the driver’s footwell. Make sure you use a grommet and some sealer.
TL/DR: worked great to balance out my speaker upgrade; just enough oomph.
