A Fun Trip Back Into The Pokemon Series, Highly Recommended.
I've been playing Pokemon games since Red and Blue, and still have my copies. So I enjoy the older Pokemon games, and was happy to play the remake of Pokemon Diamond again on the Switch.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is very fun to play if you enjoy the older Pokemon games, however if you started with Pokemon Go, Lets Go, Sword and Shield and Arceus, you may not enjoy Brilliant Diamond as much as I did as it heavily sticks to the traditional Pokemon gameplay.
The biggest issue I see people raise with Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl is the graphical style, and while I don't really care for the Chibi style, it did not make me enjoy the game any less. In fact, because I played Lets Go, Sword and Arceus more recently, I enjoyed it even more because it took me back.
And I'd still recommend it even if you started on Go/Lets Go or Sword and Shield, Arceus those games may play differently than this one, but Brilliant Diamond will give you the traditional Pokemon experience that those games don't really have.
