A Couple of Serious Isssues
0 of 1 found this helpful What you can see (but I didn't notice) and what you can't see...
What you can see in the pic if you look very closely (but I didn't notice) is that the nut to tighten the tilt is badly deformed. This causes issues setting and controlling the head.
What you can't see, is that the head is stuck on the base - when I realized the head was a write-off I thought "at least I can use the base with a new head". Nope. The usual three screws that hold the head in place from the bottom (the top of the center shaft) are missing and the head is somehow fused to the top of the center shaft. So I have had to resort to a rebuild using spare parts, which will repurpose this is a pan-only tripod.

Good design, but flaw in lockdown screw
Overall, the design and build are quite good, especially for the price. The problem is that the screw that holds the QR plate to the camera has a ring for tightening, and the ring snaps off when you begin to get tight. And the screw has no slat for a flathead screwdriver (or quarter), so there isn't any other way to tighten/loosen it.
