More Than A Flanger
This is not just flanger. The gate/pan mode is very versatile and it can sound like a tremolo effect with a clean sound. I absolutely love it.

Quality Sounds w/ Great Price
2 of 2 found this helpful I watched a video of a comparison of this pedal and TC Electronic's Flashback when I was about to buy Flashback. This one sounds significantly better for a similar price. I wanted tape delay and this was an upgrade from my old Boss DD-3. Canyon gives you an option to adjust settings of each mode so it's packed with lots of sounds. Also, the loop mode has a function that allows you to play drum tracks after they're downloaded from YouTube. Not sure if Flashback does that. Very happy about the purchase.

My 5 Reasons for Hummingbird V4 Instead of Diamond Tremolo
I decided to get Hummingbird V4 after thinking about getting the Diamond Tremolo pedal for 5 reasons.
1) The Depth knob of Hummingbird V4 has the effects of different waveforms that Diamond offers.
2) The speed of the Rate knob goes so much faster than that of Diamond. It sounds like ring modulation and is very unique. It's extreme but musical. I wanted that sound.
3) I think Diamond's chaotic speed mode is interesting, but often not useful onstage. Controlled speed is the best for this.
4) As far as I can tell from all those YouTube videos on these 2 pedals, Hummingbird sounds better than Diamond. It sounds slightly cleaner and richer. In general EQD makes low noise, great sounding pedals that have very musical sounds.
5) V4 has a Flexi-Switch. Momentary tremolo is very useful for me. That's why I got this instead of V3 or V2.
(I really liked Boss BF-3, which first gave me the experience of using momentary slicer mode with flanger. But, the slicer effect unfortunately stopped working.)
