TRUMPETER WHIRLWIND FIGHTER.
1 of 2 found this helpful Well engineered kit, basically accurate BUT small irritating inaccuracies such as: trailing edge of wings curved instead of straight, leading edge radiator openings wrong shape, headrest sits at wrong angle above cockpit cill, engraved frame line in wrong place on cockpit canopy. Also all flying surfaces are not separate pieces, they are moulded into wings, tailplanes and fin and are poorly scribed/delineated. Landing and formation lights are not clear pieces and the scribed circles for the landing lights are in slightly the wrong place. Decals - the code letters and roundels are the wrong colours (code letters should be medium sea grey or sky not white and red on roundels is too bright). So - this kit requires a lot of work and decals need replacing in order to produce an accurate finished model.

Trumpeter 1:48 Savoia Marchetti SM 79 Sparviero
Haven't made the kit yet - but from the box, it looks fairly accurate and well moulded but representation of fabric covering on fuselage is exaggerated and interior is a bit sparse. Also there's only one colour scheme and decals. Am looking forward to making it though.

Ronseal 10 Year Exterior Wood Paint - great finish and fast and easy to apply.
I am an experienced carpenter. Finding good protection for exterior timber is very important. Ronseal 10 Year Exterior paint is a very good product in the following respects:
1) It is very easy to apply.
2) It covers well.
3) It dries quickly to an even finish.
I first applied this paint to panels I constructed for a gazebo over 2 years ago. The paint has stood up well and in fact, there has been no visible deterioration in finish - it still looks new.
I have seen some adverse comments about this product on line - some people have said that it dries patchy. I have not found this to be the case. I would think that very thorough stirring of the paint before use would probably solve this problem. Also this paint dries very fast (touch dry in 1 hour) so you have to work very fast to apply it. If you go back over paint that has started to dry you may cause the patchiness referred to. In this case or in very hot weather I would recommend slightly thinning the paint with clean water. Hope this helps.
I think the product is excellent but at prices ranging from £16 to £23 per 750ml it is not cheap. Even at these prices for a full litre it would still not be cheap.
