Companion to the deck
I admit I may be a little biased since I love dragons, particularly Peter Pracownik's work, and have owned and worked with the tarot deck for years. I bought it without the book, and it worked fine with just the insert LWB, but there are some things I like about the bigger book. The introduction is a nice overview of dragons in myth and legend, along with various things dragons symbolize in different cultures and today. The next part, "How to work with the Images" is a nice intro for people new to tarot work. It stresses using your intuition rather than just parroting the "meanings" out of a book. The next section, "Dragonland" is an odd bit of fiction that may give some background to the world depicted in the cards. I didn't feel it was necessary, and felt it was a little confusing, since I already have my own ideas about the tarot "story." The next section appears on the surface to be a guided meditation into this fictional time/place, but I think it may in fact be a bit of disguised shamanic technique. The instructions can be used to "journey" into these cards, other kinds of cards, or pretty much any landscape you can imagine. I may not have picked up on this if I hadn't just recently read the Shamanic writings of John Matthews.
The major mass of the book is an expansion of the LWB, with individual card meanings/descriptions and tips & spreads. The last part of the book was my favorite, containing individual sections for different cultures' dragon myths & stories, from Arthurian legend to Aztec myth. The Bibliography is also short but sweet, suggesting some additional reading, including modern fantasy and science fiction featuring dragons.
A short but enjoyable read!

Cute and Good Deal.
My five-year old daughter loves it! It wasn't hard to assemble, though color or more detail on the instructions would have been nice a few times. The thin floors were slightly bent, but installation pulled them straight. The only real issue we had was a hole didn't line up on a small roof piece. We made it work, though. The furniture is just right for about age 3-6. So fun!
