Soundtrack - O Brother where art thou? - Excellent CD!
I loved the film and this is the second copy of the soundtrack I have bought on ebay in the last year. The first one got stuck in my car player and I have had serious withdrawal symptoms ever since! The sound quality and performances are excellent throughout and the music is perfect for the film - a wonderful blend of songs and highly recommended. Couldn't ask for a better soundtrack!

Dolly Parton - The Collection (CD 2004)
If you have just started listening to Dolly Parton - this CD would be an excellent introduction to her music. 2004, Spectrum Music. It comes with a 2 page insert giving a full biography of a woman who has been "at the top of her profession for nearly forty years." As a whole, it is a highly polished product and possibly the best CD I have bought so far this year. I would thoroughly recommend it since these are all top quality recordings with a very wide appeal. The 21 tracks alternate between pure country, rock country & crossover but the standard of performance is high throughout. It also illustrates the range of other artists she collaborates with. I especially like 1 -Just When I Needed You Most (with Alison Krauss & John Sebastian)and 4 -Before The Next Teardrop Falls (with David Hidalgo)and 11 - Blue Valley Songbird. The fantastic Ladysmith Black Mambazo contribute to 5 - Peace Train/Isitimela Sokuthula and then she is back in rock/country mode with 6 - The Salt in my Tears. 12 of the tracks are credited to Dolly Parton herself and are a testimony to her song writing talent; other credits includes Randy Van Warmer (1 - Just When I needed you most), Kenny O' Dell (2 - Behind Closed Doors),Kris Kristofferson (3 - For the Good Times), Neil Young (10 - After the Goldrush) and others. The fact that not all the songs were originally written by DP does not detract from the CD. In fact, it strengthens it even further. These "non-Dolly" songs have been chosen perfectly to complement her own style of lyrics. There is very little to criticize in this collection. The sound quality is excellent (even when played on my laptop which is very bloody minded when it wants to be). 10/10 and highly recommended.

Forget about it - the title not a recommendation!
A top notch collection of 11 tracks with a crisp sound quality. I only started listening to Alison Krauss after O Brother where Art Thou - as good an introduction as any. Particularly recommended are: 2 - "Forget About It" - a lovely song with the guitar making a perfect counterpoint, I like the instrumental solos as well 4 - "Maybe" - a gentle, lyrical pieces that starts very softly and builds up from there. 6 - "Never Got Off The Ground" & 7 - "Ghost in This House" both have a more traditional country feel with fantastic instrumentals. 11- "Dreaming my Dreams with you" - another gentle lyrical piece that brings the CD to a satisfactory close. Recommended.
