The victor writes the history. So much of what is written about the "Civil War" is so layered in anti-Southern propaganda that it is painful to read. Even the name "Civil War" is incorrect and misleading. I once wrote a negative review of Ken Burn's Civil War bemoaning the emphasis on Andersonville Prison while glossing over the fact that a higher percentage of Southern POWs died in Northern prisons than Yankees in Southern prisons. The review was not well received and similar writers were labelled members of the "lunatic fringe" by Time Magazine. This current book challenges the whitewashing of history by the victors. Whether or not you are willing to accept everything in this book, if you consider yourself a true American, you owe it to yourself to read it. Well written, thought provoking and straightforward. A breath of fresh air.

Finally Widescreen

I always enjoyed this movie but the full screen pan & scan version was bad as the original took full advantage of the wide screen theatre format. Several times you had talking noses! I missed the 2013 release of this in widescreen and so was very pleased to get a second chance. No extras on the disc but i very seldom look at them anyway so no loss as far as I am concerned

Nice length, solid feel

Very well made. Full tang - no snapping of the blade with use here. Micarta grips comfortable and allow for firm gripping of the knife. Top notch sheath. Very sharp. Highly recommend.
