2nd Best CD in History (EMI release of same is THE BEST
This is the eighth wonder of the World and not in that order. If you are a collector having the American/Hollywood version is necessary. Although, if you want the best Queen Greatest Hits CD I would have purchased only the version put out in Europe by EMI. The American verison lacks the famous "Bohemian Rhapsody" song which was reintroduced in the movie Wayne's World in the early/mid 90's. Bohemian Rhapsody (the song), Queen (the band) and of course Freddie Mercury (singer, songwriter, IV degree pianist and all around musician who sadly died on Thanksgiving in 1991) are all legends and always will be. This particular CD is still great as you have the full range of Mercury/Queen's talent which is acid rock to vaudville. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy is an example of the diversity which makes these artists continue to entertain through each decade to present. It also contains the chart topping "We Are The Champions" which held the number 1 spot at the top of the charts for weeks until the band's other 1977 release "Will Rock You" knocked it down a rung - history made, which was only recently closely followed a couple of years ago when the two bands known as "Outkast" out did each other the same week. Listen to "I Want To Break Free" and tell me you don't love and identify with these guys. Further, another historical moment only Elvis would understand is the 3rd song on the album "Another One Bites The Dust" which topped charts across the board beginning with black music charts, then rock and dance charts too. This CD has songs written by three of the four member band. Other than the EMI version of this CD there is no other CD in this World, to date, that can outdo this CD across the board (listen to the background vocals - these guys are incredible). Brian May is as good as Hendrix. Freddie Mercury left his mark in history and lived life, as we all should, to its fullest. They left the most extraordiary gift in the World, better that the 7 wonders, and the bands own idol Hendrix. Buy this for you and your children - this has come back into style in the teen arena recently. Thank you, Freddie, Brian, John and Roger. Note to the Band, no other vocalist will ever replace Freddie Mercury. Brian May in his own right is a good singer too, check out his albums.
