Completed my microscope

Back in 1963 I purchased my Leitz microscope with Steindorff eyepieces because of their excellent high eyepoint but through the years I always regretted not having an all Leitz instrument. Despite what I read about a change in focal length in 1965 the new eyepieces are quite par focal. Haven't tested image resolution yet but I am content that my microscope is "original".

Mine must have been faulty.

I couldn't hear any increase in distortion when the pedal was on with the gain up. I must have gotten a faulty pedal and returned it to the manufacturer for inspection and replacement if defective.

No sleep timer

I had a Maxent 26" LCD TV that I paid $900 for! That was what the earliest LCD TVs cost and I lost the remote, so I bought this replacement. Although the remote works fine, I really didn't need it since I only use the TV on its composite input and the cable box remote can toggle the TV on and off. The function that I was looking for, a sleep timer, is not implemented on this TV so that was a disappointment.
