37" LCD TV
2 of 3 found this helpful I bought the Hitachi 37" lcd tv to replace my aging Toshiba 29" 4:3 CRT tv.
I did a bit of research on the tv first as it's a lot of money to spend and then find out it's not what you thought it was going to be like.
Using standard sky tv (not any of the hd channels)the image ranges from average to very crisp and clear depending what channel you are watching.
Where LCD TV's come into their own is if you link up a dvd player using the hdmi cable (not supplied). this is what it's all about, what a transformation from what i have been used to. I tested it out using a friends dvd player with hdmi cable and a test hddvd. I have now ordered myself an hddvd to enhance my movies.
I can't comment on the speakers on the tv as i have an a/v receiver with surround sound that is played through that.
I think that the remote and gui menu system on the tv is very easy to use and set up is a doddle as the tv (when first turned on) does it all for you.
I would recommend this tv to anyone looking to upgrade their old tv but for the extra i would also encourage you to get a hddvd player for a great cinema experience.

DVD-R128
10 of 10 found this helpful If you are after a decent user friendly dvd recorder that plays most formats you won't go far wrong with this.
I bought this for my mum because of the easy menu and instructions. It's also a nice looking dvd recorder with a clear lit up panel.
It has one touch record which comes in useful.
It will only record using -DVD R or -DVD RW.
For around the £45 - £55 mark it's a bargain player that anyone can use.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W17 7.41 Megapixel Digital Camera
I bought this camera recently as my old one packed up and have been very pleased with the quality of the photos it produces.
There are numerous settings to play around with albeit most of these just add effects that can be achieved using a half decent photo editing software.
It has 3x optical zoom and shake stabilization which is very efficient and fast.
On the downside it is a bulky and fairly weighty camera and gets through batteries quickly.
It comes with a AA battery charger and 4 AA batteries and a nice leather carry case.
All in all this is not the best camera on the market but in terms of photo quality it far exceeded my expectations.
