Good product for its price

Just like the DVD video format, Bluray players will eventually fade away. There are only a handful of bluray player manufacturers left. This mid-priced Sony model is ideal for those who still have a good bluray and DVD collection. Its all region capability is a great help, and it plays high-end CDs too, as well as DTS. My only compliant is a lack of a display screen which I think is important to view the disc playing status.

Underwhelming

I had high hopes after purchasing this Roku tv box that so many reviewers raved about will transform my video viewing, especially talks on accessing thousands of channels. There are a lot of channels but the majority are from unpopular and small unheard of stations, mostly located in the Americas and African countries; not much from Europe and Asia. Strangely there are a lot of channels in Spanish. Being in Australia, most of these channels are irrelevant to my interests. There are hardly any popular documentary offerings like National Geographic. Being a subscriber to Amazon Prime video, there is no access to this as well. Perhaps the greatest disappointment is the absence of a search function to add other channels not found on the default list. This unit is now relegated to one of my drawers. I will now set my sight to buying a smart TV instead.
