Short but Sweet!
This is a Contra-Style shoot 'em up arcade hit that graced the Genesis back in the good old days. There's a lot of nostalgia for games like this in my heart, so i might be slightly biased on this one.
Pros: great gameplay, adequately challenging, fun boss fights, cool graphics
Cons: very short game, no alternate play modes, so not a lot of replay value...
Overall, it's a good deal if you pay under 10 bucks for it. Otherwise I would pass on it and stick to Contra: the Alien Wars

Great novel for young adult sci-fi fans!!!
I feel a certain attachment to this book that transcends merely saying that it was written well. I think there is a certain energy in the story that really excited me when I read it for the first time. Although the plot is touted by most as "formulaic" and "standard", you have to understand that the first printing of the book was in the 1920's or 30's! Douglas Hill didn't have much to worry about in terms of formulas, because back then there wasn't any. He is one of the earliest sci-fi authors I have discovered.
With that said... I would definitely recommend Galactic Warlord to anyone with an open mind towards storylines that are written more for the art of expression than for their believability. No, this book isn't shockingly fresh, and it won't change the way you think about life... but it has a lot of heart, and the writing is very clear-headed and straightforward. This book will definitely pull you in if you give it a chance.
