Ten Canoes
Tjis film is a masterpiece. A slice of traditional Aboriginal life in Australia, a group of men go out together from their tribe on the annual goose hunt making their bark canoes as they go. The tribal elder takes this time to narrate a tale of the ancestors which is brought to life for the men as not only does the core of the story relate to the situation of one of the young men of their party who is attracted to one of his brother's wives but also because it occurs at the same time of year and event as the men are undertaking on this occasion. The story covers in depth the beliefs, customs and rituals of the Aboriginal people with great sensitivity and dignity and is both deeply moving and incredibly funny at times. Thw film is set in the most remote part of Aboriginal territory and is simply stunning. The film is largely narrated in English but the intermittemnt dialogue is in the Aboriginal language and the only fault I can find with this film is that a few of the subtitles are white set against a light background and are a little difficult to read at times but this in no way spoils an incredible film. Well worth anybody's money, I highly recommend this film, particularly if you are interested in other cultures and customs.

The Last Sign
1 of 1 found this helpful A great film that certainly keeps you guessing all the way through. I liked it because it doesnt rely solely on special effects to create horror, it is one of those rare films that has atmosphere. I have given it an excellent rating, it isnt the best fikm I've ever seen but it comes out very well indeed against the conpetition.

The Forgotten
This one sneaks up and grabs you from behind. I pride myself on trying to guess the end before five minutes have elapsed but not with this one, it is a very good film. Well cast with plausible characters. A very good flm indeed.
