Good for those on a budget.

This is a great value kit for the money and a good start for those on a budget. However it is a budget kit after all so don't expect studio grade quality. Some of my switches are a little dodgy and light fittings (particularly on the umbrella mount are touchy, but as mentioned for the $ it's pretty much what I was expecting. Light stands are very lightweight, so make sure to use sand bags/weights to hold them down as they will fall over quite easily without.

Good general tripod with a few handy features.

In a way I was expecting a little more from this tripod, but in saying so am still very pleased with it. Does take a little while to get use to (well coming from other brands). Love the boom ability (main reason I bought it). Only downside is the screw to lock the plate in can be a bit of a pain to undo at times and I almost need to get a pair of pliers to undo it. Could just be me tightening a little too much as I do use heavy glass and don't want it to fall off the head.
