Gentle, heartwarming with lots of charm & sweetness for kids and kids at heart
I was about 7 when this came out and my family saw everything like this but somehow Dunderklumpen just reminded me of other films we saw at the time. I would have definitely remembered this sweet film. I adore rare kid video like this at my older age. I highly recommend the Swedish production of Pippi Longstocking, the TV series on DVD and the 4 feature films on blu ray that are right now widely available and with visual/audio quality that far surpasses this DVD. Although parents should watch those with their kids to explain that Pippi often engages in dangerous behavior. (example, don't jump off a mountain...lol) I'd love a better quality of Dunderklumpen too. As it is, the DVD is worth the asking price. The movie is delightful!! The extra string of vintage trailers and commercials put a smile on my face too.

Finally...a worthy home release. Tons of wonderful extras.
Replaced the washed out DVD from years back with this superior region free blu ray. The different is stunning! I was so disappointed in the old DVD I only watched it once. Now I'll watch this wonderful film from my childhood again and again. Just delightful! Among the best movies made from the story. The extras are nice too. Saving one for Christmas this year.

An example of how to release classic television
I can't recommend this set of Gumby shows enough. I don't think I've had more fun with a home DVD release of a classic show. This is the second set from the 60s. The first set had a Pokey figure while this one has G & J. These are large figures, about 4 inch each. The 50s set has Gum himself, standing about 5-6 inches tall. These are quality items alone and not just afterthoughts. The episodes themselves have probably never looked as good as they do right here. I wish every show from my childhood was released in this way. Imagine Ultraman with an action figure added to each volume? Or Scooby Doo or any other of your favorites? Fans of Gumby probably already know they must have this. Well, you will not be disappointed.
