Powerful, good price/performance, hot and not good for heavy loads.
The EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 is an excellent graphics card for its price. The only inconvenients are that it's a hot card, running at ~90% loaded @ 78°C and fan @ 80% (3570-3600rpm). You might say: oh, but fan @ 80% is not a problem, and YES, it is. It is very noisy at that fan speed, and the max. speed is 85% by default (although you can unlock it up to 100%, but I wouldn't recommend that, since it is very, very noisy). Also, it idles at 52°C @ 44% fan (1590-1620rpm). All of this was taken at 28°C room temperature, 74% humidity. For heavy loads, as when the GPU is +99% loaded, the card throttles down to 405mHz (instead of the 797mHz stock). This is intended as a TDP limit, since the GTX 580 has the same issue. Currently, it is only bypass-able with the 580, but not with the 570. That means that for heavy renders, this card is not recommended. This issue can be "avoided" if the card is underclocked at 540mHz, since it does not throttles down at +99% GPU loads, but this is false advertisement since Nvidia launched a 219w card, but you can never use fully the gpu.
