soft at f1.4, but great lens from f2 upwards. a good 35mm choice.
5 of 5 found this helpful very good lens over all. excellent build. soft at f1.4 but very sharp from f2 and up. the widest aperture should be reserved for only cases of extreme low light. other than that, using at f2 is a pleasure with shallow enough DOF.

awesome with the a7ii
excellent adapter.. perfect for use with a7ii and a7rii with on sensor phase detect with new sony alpha mount lenses.. only works with SSM and SAM lens... does not autofocus with older minolta screwdrive lenses... for that u'll need the LAEA4 adapter...
i own the LAEA4 as well, and the zeiss 24-70 f2.8 focus ALOT faster and better on the LAEA3 on the a7ii than with the LAEA4.
I wish sony would allow the LAEA4 adapters to use to on sensor phase detect points as well. the LAEA4 is slower because it uses only 9 phase detect points in the adapter.

excellent quality. but i prefer the fisheye
1 of 1 found this helpful excellent value.. but i also have the fisheye adapter and my personal taste prefers the fisheye. however this is still a very good ultra wide angle lens with minimal to no distortion that would be excellent for photographing architecture and tight landscapes.
