Still a great scanner, especially with VueScan.
Excellent scanner. It's several years old, but I don't know that scanners have gotten any better, and this is still a high-end scanner. It does a great job on photos, slides, negatives, and large-format negatives, all of which I have needed. (For thousands of slides, I'd recommend something faster/more automated).
I will say that life is much, much better if you get VueScan to operate this scanner. And, in fact, VueScan is probably required for this to work on a Mac, at least, since Canon hasn't released new drivers for this scanner since 2011. But this scanner works great with VueScan, even without any drivers from Canon.
If you ever see faint lines going down your scans, VueScan's "scanner -> calibrate" option cleans it right up.

Beautiful 4K 27" monitor
Beautiful 4K 27" monitor. I already had one, so I got a second one so that both my external monitors would be the same.
