One to learn a lot from ....
Very well written by experts in the field. Exposes some of the tricks of the trade and is exceptionally hot on design. A cracking good read!

One version of 'simple' in the OED is 'easy to understand'!
This book was bought by me (second hand) purely on the title. Simple, it is not!
Electronics, ironically enough, is quite an easy subject to learn from scratch. It's all down to presentation and, when writing a book such as this, the author needs to put himself in the place of the reader.
Now, the reader who buys this book is inevitably a complete nincompoop as far as electronics goes. Yes, he might know what a switch does, or even Ohm's law (if he concentrated in Physics at school), but the subject matter needs to be presented in a simple, easy to take in way, presented in small chunks, with examples.
This is especially true when there is mathematics to take in. Most people, I would suggest, haven't used algebra for donkey's years and it takes time, patience and many examples before these rules stick in the cerebellum.
I would recommend 'Electronics for Dummies' to anyone wanting to learn about the fascinating world of quanta.
Electronics Made Simple is written, very obviously, by a man who is a master of his subject and the book will probably be very useful to a post graduate electronics person, but for a beginner, and thicko, like me, it is simply a door stop.
Sorry, Mr Sinclair. Rename this book 'Advanced Electronics for Clever People' and it might become popular - but don't book a round the World cruise on the proceeds.
Keeps the door open though .......
