Airline history
A great history lesson. Sad to know that Northwest is no more along with Pan American, Eastern, TWA and so many more.
I experiences a lot of airline history first hand, starting at Mohawk Airlines during 1963 flying Convair 240s, 440s and Martin 404s, serving Rome, New York. I retired in 2001, flying the Airbus A-330 to Rome Italy. Talk about being a witness to change. It was great to read about what came before starting my airline career, and Jack El-Hai's view of the industry during my career. My son started at Northwest in 1995 and now is a check airman at Delta. I'm sure he'll find it compelling also.
