Camera Collector's and Intelligence Historian's Dream Acquisition
This camera belongs in any collectors collection of subminiature and/or spy cameras. It is a first rate piece of equipment, fullfilling its inventor's (Walter Zapp's) goal of providing a camera that could be carried in anyone's pocket, ready for taking a picture at any opportune time. This type of camera was produced from 1937 (the Riga Latvia model) through the 1990s (LX version, proced in Germany). This model, Minox B, was the first to incorporate a coupled lightmeter. Zapp's company itself has an interesting history, with patents (and design work?) completed in Estonia, initial production in Riga Latvia, the company seized by Germany, then Russia, then Germany. The cameras proved popular with the major spy agencies, including Bill Donovan's Office of Strategic Services, later the CIA.

Seminal work on organizations. Brief. Excellent. Essential reference.
Structure in Fives is a seminal work on designing organizations. What Henry Mintzberg accomplishes in this work is integrating research findings on factors influencing the form of organization that works best, under conditions that differ. One of its virtues: this is a compact presentation. Another: the book's main points are summarized in a master diagram towards the end of the work. Admirably, one can deduce the changed structure an organization should evolve toward, to enhance effectiveness. Although a classic, and somewhat dated, as an introduction to organizational design issues, Structure in Fives serves admirably. Henry Mintzberg is of one of our most creative researchers, thinkers, and synthesizers in the field of Management. Since his Doctoral dissertation he has contributed both great insight and great (constructive) controversy to our understanding of Management. This book represents one of his several major contributions.
