Have a young boy? Then this book is for both of you.

I saw a talk show featuring this book over 25 years ago. At that time, I had 3 boys at the age where things were starting to happen to their bodies. So, I bought the book, and we all read it. It helped us all to understand what was going on. Over the years, I borrowed it to others, and eventually forgot who I borrowed it to. Today, I have an 11-year old grandson, so I searched out this book on ebay and bought it for him and his family. The book shows, through easy to understand language and simple drawings, what is happening to a boy's body as he matures. It explains things that they should know, but that are difficult for parents to talk to them about, as well as things you would not think to discuss such as hair growth and whiskers. However, one of the most important things it does do is explain to them that everyone matures at a different rate, so whatever is happening to them is normal. For example, if they grow tall really fast, that doesn't make them a freak; they just grow at a faster rate than others, etc. The book covers changes to the body and sex in a way that the boy will understand without getting too graphic or explicit, no matter how young or old he may be. It also covers sexually transmitted diseases and how babies are made. I see this book as providing information about body changes and sex so that questions are answered in an appropriate way, rather than through tales from others and misinformation. I highly recommend this book for anyone with a young boy. However, I suggest that the parent/guardian read it first so that they know just what is in the book and can determine for themselves when the boy is ready to for this information. You may even choose to read parts of it together if the boy is not ready for all of the information yet.

Great Product for Travel

I bought this for myself and have been very pleased with the product. I bought it because of the games and movie features. I got it and charged the battery to full right away. Then I was able to play movies or games without any problems whatsoever. This was a new product, not a refurbished. The item was just as described and shipped promptly. It works great for traveling with my 3 yr old granddaughter. Keeps her entertained for the full 2 hour drive to the cabin. At the cabin, I can take this into my bedroom and watch a movie after she is sleeping in the living room. When my 12 year old grandson is along, he can play games when he gets bored. Makes it easier for us all.
