'A Sleeper'
This film definitely fell thru the hollywood cracks...and by that, I mean that it was not regarded as anything 'serious' back in 1999, especially when so many blockbusters like 'The Matrix' was spear-heading the new millennium. Also, it's a remake of the original of the black and white 60's version which, is actually more 'haunting' than this film. However, the film stands the times on it's own, and I feel that sentiment for myself...others might disagree. The cast is good. The location/cinematography is great, the story-so so, but I believe the writers were a bit off with the script. Dialogue speaks loudly in an empty hall, and it felt that the writers didn't fill that with this great cast. BUT, I like this film for what it is: a movie that 'breaths' with a sense of 'being there' (esp. the fact that the music score stops in many key parts in the film). The effects (visual/audible) are top-notch, bringing a fondness that never really left me when I saw it originally almost two decades ago. Like I said, everything about the film has great merit, albeit with an 'ehh approach with the character lines within the film.
There are SEVERAL films that fall way behind this one, with the 'typical slasher approach that this film does not (fortunately) have. Jerry Goldsmith's musical score tops it off, along with great cinematography, and great visual effects *that actually beat many CGI effects today. TWO HONEST THUMBS UP.

Great Sound (for what it is)
1 of 1 found this helpful This particular amplifier sounds very good and has more power than most receivers in his class. It is not the easiest to set it up through the GUI, but once it is set up and calibrated it sounds fantastic. Way netter than the Yamaha V671 i had, which blew... At the used price I got, it was an insanely good deal. Very Pleased!
