My future plow truck
3 of 3 found this helpful I wanted a truck to hang a plow on to do both of my driveways.I wanted an early chevy,"73 thru 83" These trucks were simple to repair mechanically. The bodies really rusted away in the snowy, salty states. Finding one with a decent body and a rust free frame is getting difficult. I found this one on Ebay with a ridiculously low buy it now price. It had a dump bed on the back and a GM replacement engine in it. The body has been reworked once already so it is not that chewed up by rust. The front inner fenderwells were rusted through a bit but I replaced both of them with aftermarket parts easily found on Ebay. I am now searching Ebay for a meyers plow set up for it.If General motors was smart, they would reproduce these trucks just as they were except use a better grade of coated steel to prevent the rust away blues. In the right hands these trucks can truly last a lifetime. I feel I have gotten a good deal on a decent truck!

A poor copy of the OEM part, Very difficult to make work
Lock actuator bellcrank is bent in the wrong direction and I had to modify my door and bend the bellcrank to get it to work. This is a poorly copied part. Its made wrong for the application.
