Brilliantly worded, exciting all the way through.
One of the best sport books I've ever read. It's in the company of Ball Four and A Flame of Pure Fire. Though you may not agree with his rankings or choices, his knowledge and writing ability is superb.

Passable history of interesting topic.
I didn't like the style of the writing, which wassometimes disjointed, sometimes perplexing and a little too underwhelming.

Great composer, musician, performer who is too little known - and this is a great album.
About 20 or so years ago someone who didn't put thought into presents saw it and just grabbed it for me, not knowing anything about her - never heard the album or her. He said it was world music. I was thinking, oh brother, some new age crazy music I'm going to hate. I didn't and was shocked how good she is.
Also, for some reason, I can't find her version of Across the Universe to download online. It's my favorite Beatles' song and hers is my favorite version -- better than the original.
