Camcorder works ok, charger broken

Received this item a bit ago and the camcorder itself works fine if it’s plugged in but the batteries are useless as the charger is broken and non-functional. I checked it many times and did exactly as the manual online says to do but to no avail. I’m not too impressed with the description on this sayin everything works when it doesn’t
