Cheaper model is better value
Rated the best performer and best value in many reviews. The only thing this one has is a reusable pre-filter and a remote control. The pre-filter is just a plastic screen. Buy the cheaper one at $35-$40 less. Otherwise they are the same and it costs just as much for the replacement filters whichever one you have.

Exceptionally robust and easy to use protection software.
The best I've ever used and over 30 years I have used most of them. Look for a good deal on ebay that is the current year (for use next year) because it automatically is updated. You'll save a lot of money. Be sure to get one that has not been installed (e.g., 2 users left on a 3 user package). The clock starts the day of the first installation. Also, if you have less than 6 months remaining on your current subscription you can install another one that automatically starts after your current one expires. If you have a problem installing it contact their tech dept. DO NOT download a trial version (as one person suggested). That puts you on a 30 day clock and it is complicated to undo.

Made in China - not what I was expecting
Not what I expected. I did a lot of research on filters. Making sure it has has the NSF ratings of 42, 53. If it doesn't don't buy it. A 58 rating removes lead which is not an issue with me. Everything I found in my research lead me to believe these were made in USA. They are made in China so like many things from there they are suspect. Don't waste your money on the name brands, e.g., Kitchenaide, Whirlpool, GE, etc. selling for $40+ each but do try to buy made in USA.
