Works as advertised
You will need the long hook for your mountain bike if you have wider rims and/tyres. Note that it’s not just tyre width, but also rim width that makes the difference. I have a 2.25” tyre on a 30mm inner width rim and can just get the hook engaged, but not very safely. Fortunately you can simply purchase a long hook and don’t need to replace the entire hinge.
