Good sound, in a small package.
This is the first time I use a PWM amplifier. The most impressive feature is its small size. It sounds great, the circuit does not overheat and it is very easy to setup.

Bose speakers always produce a big sound that does not correspond to their small size. It is surprising.
The device works as it is described on the instruction manual, it is good value for money.

This is an awesome addition to a collector's shelf.
4 of 4 found this helpful When I was a sudent at the Faculty of Engineering, UNAM (México City), I received a TI-55 as a birthday gift. I used it and enjoyed all the qualities it had and the valuable help it gave in my studies. Sadly, the calculator was lost due to an experiment and I purchased a far more powerful TI-59, which I still have. I now am a collector and decided to have that calculator again. It brings good memories from my student time. Perhaps the only two drawbacks I found are the little time the batteries last and the fact that there are no parts available, I would like to purchase a power supply to recharge the batteries as the original design was intended. The collector who would like to have one of these, should be aware that the polarity of the battery terminals is reversed, red is negative, black is positive, this is not an error form the TI engineers, it is due to a design characteristic: the integrated circuit runs on a negative voltage supply, the other problem is that the majority of owners left the calculator in a dark drawer for eons and forgot to remove the batteries, then the batteries leaked and corroded the inside of the power supply battery pack, it is difficult to make it work again, if it is posible to recover the damaged circuit (a task that an electronics engineer can do).
The calcualtor, on the other hand, has a great deal of features to solve everyday engineering and statistical problems, apart from its nice vintage look and the appealing, hipnotizing LED display, the fashion rage of the '70s. Fortunately, the device has a power saving feature, that makes the use of the original rechargeable battery pack a delight. The possibility of writing a short program to calculate many repetitive operations is like a cherry on top of the cake, not bad for a relatively low budget calculator from that time. The main advantage is that the only integrated circuit it has is sturdy, if nobody tampered with it, it is bound that the calculator will work with the correct 9V supply.
The calculator is a prize for a collector who likes the powerful features of an advanced scientific calculator and the nice vintage look of the '70s.
