Fantastic cheap grunty processors
These chips are *fantastic* value. LGA 1366 processors are "old" and "outdated" but you can get tremendous performance for an exceptionally low price. I bought these two for $160 and installed them in a recycled server I got for free. I am using it as a compile/build project box for a user group and mixed with 40GB of RAM and some decent disks, it will build an android kernel in about 2 minutes and an entire Lineage OS build in under 1.5 hours.
At idle, their power usage is not bad and if you want to save even more money you can go with the X5640 or similar which can be had in matching pairs for $80 or less (as of 6/14/18).
12 core, 24 threads @ 3.33ghz turbo'ing to 3.6 across two cores and 3.46 across a higher core count ++ .
I highly recommend LGA 1366 hardware for people on budgets who just need some CPU grunt.
