Great inexpensive "Back Up " units!
5 of 6 found this helpful Been having problems with squelching when monitoring and full volume on this and other units. I'm going to assume the the draw on the battery exceeds its, ( the battery),rating, but once the volume is turned down abou 40 percent, or you used the ear piece/vox mic then the static pulsing stops.
It's is a great, Very inexpensive unit but I need something more reliable when Paragliding so I'll keep the three I have as back ups. I'm NOT confidant that the extended life batteries I bought actually are anything more then larger cases with the same battery pack so I intended to disassemble one in the near future..

Don't write off vintage tech as yet...
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this used, dead battery but in good condition. I replaced the battery and wiped the old data. Since I travel a lot its nice to not run down my phone battery...
I honestly thought that I would love having one, all inclusive device that did everything...
I now find it a pain in the a$$ since one bad app. will crash my whole phone, plus I miss the tactile sensation of having dedicated devices and if I loose or crash a device, there's no consequences to the others.

An F'ing great pus sucker!
For the price it does what its designed to do well enough.
Of course like most things I get I did not use it for its intended purpose. Instead I used the smallest cup to suction out the fluid from the wound in my wife's lower back from where she had 4 vertebrae fused. There had been several lumps along the incision that were getting larger and harder until they started seeping, causing her some discomfort. Once I applied the vacuum it took a few seconds before each area cut loose and a small stream flowed out relieving the pressure and her discomfort. I repeated this several times over a couple of days until the incision became straight, pink and soft. Her doctor thought this was a novel solution and he would be trying it himself before lancing a wound to reduce scarring in the future.
