The silver finish used to be much nicer...
The silver versions of these base stations (as opposed to the black versions) used to be much nicer. The old silver finish was a classy looking brushed aluminum. The new silver base stations have a tacky looking powder-coat-painted-sparkly-silver finish. What a disappointment. They still work well, but the new, cheesy 1980's finish makes their premium price even harder to justify. It looks like the manufacturer just wanted to cut corners as much as possible without passing the cost savings on to the consumers so the manufacturer could increase profits. I used to highly recommend these to my clients... now I am looking at other options. Maybe choose black instead?

Perfect fit, good material
This is a great replacement for our worn canopy. The material is much better than the third-party/non-manufacturer's replacement that we used the last time we replaced our canopy, despite the third-party brand claiming their "rip-stop" fabric was superior--- it wasn't. Glad to be using the original manufacturer's canopy once again.

Well constructed, good quality, works well
This makes a great charging stand for an iPad Mini used as a smart home controller or just for a bedside charging cradle. It isn't quite as cool or beautiful as the LaunchPort system (which uses full magnetic mounting and induction charging technology), but it is far less costly and still well designed. And it has one advantage over the LaunchPort... the iPort Charge Case is much thinner and lighter.
