Ode to Bobbie Gentry - The overlooked legacy of a great singer/songwriter.
Firstly, let me admit that I think I'm now in love with the artist/woman/elusive mystery that is Bobbie Gentry! - so my review may be slightly biased... Taking that aside, this CD is a very good selection of her varied work, and shows off the qualities of a very talented and sadly overlooked singer/songwriter. A beautiful cross-section of her songs here to discover and enjoy, including the worldwide ghostly hit 'Ode to Billie Joe'. One poor oversight by the record company however, is the incorrect track listing of 'Chickasaw County Child' which isn't actually on the album! The song in it's place and therefore wrongly referenced, is actually the catchy 'Poppa Wontcha Let Me Go To Town With You'. Bobbie was great at so many different styles, from bluegrass country, and pop, through to smokey soul. I'm so glad I've discovered her wonderful musical legacy. Perhaps, through albums like this, you will share that love too. So, the mystery continues...where is she now, and why did the recording career end? Drop me a line soon, Bobbie!! Richard x

Paul McCartney- Back In The US - DVD
A scintillating quality DVD recording which captures the atmosphere, and excitement of Paul's 2002 US tour with his new band. Stacks of stunning performances of great songs from McCartney's full repertoire, including The Beatles, Wings and now upto his current solo material. The stage backdrops and visuals accompanying the performances are works of live art on their own, plus the DVD extras give a comprehensive, fun and exclusive peek behind the scenes! This tour continued its stage/set into Europe during 2003. Hence, if you were fortunate to have gone to any of this amazing tour, this DVD is the perfect reminder (and much more...). If you didn't get to attend, this is as close as you could have got. A true master at his best - Paul McCartney rocks - official!!

Kung Fu DVD 3rd series
Continuation and conclusions as the final series reached the same excellent DVD boxset format as found with series' 1 and 2. For a long time it was a source of mystery and frustration why the final series only seemed to be available for the U.S. market. However after reading many helpful reviews, I followed the advice and bought series 3, despite it being classed as DVD region 1. Am consequently delighted to confirm that indeed, the discs play absolutely fine on region 2 (UK/Europe)! This is wonderful news to all enlightened fans of 'Kung Fu', in my opinion one of the greatest TV series ever produced. Enjoy...
