Colorful and glossed view of LIRR's historic motive power and events.
Overall, this book sums up the LIRR in color photos from 1950 until 1980. I am not terribly taken with the organization, in other words, the subject taken as highlights to head chapters, and some facts and I.D.'s are clearly incorrect. Otherwise, I found it to be a pleasant enough journey though history. I found a picture of me and two railfanning buddies at Nassau tower inside as well! I got the book for a great price, but I've seen it being sold for far more than I feel is reasonable. If you love the LIRR, it's a nice compendium. Some drawings and identification features would have made it a bit better.
