Denon PMA 250 SE Review

This amp is not bad in any areas for the money. Good budget amp, just not as good as budget rotels and nads.
Good bass and smooth treble. Direct button helps.

Great amp
1 of 1 found this helpful I have owned many amps over the years. I also own a very good pair of ruark speakers to test this amp as well.
I had the opportunity to try this amp and a £500 what hifi product of the year Denon av amp.
This marantz pm6005 amp knocked spots of the denon in every area, a real surprise.
It is superb through the digital inputs, I can even get good results through a sky hd box”s optical out.
I use the coaxial input through an old but good CD player.
It has good rhythm, detail and front and back soundstage.
I agree with one reviewer about the bass, it is good quality, definition but is can be on the thick side. I’m hoping to sort this out with cabling.
Overall a terrific amp and I have had many, a real surprise
Would recommend without hesitation

2 of 2 found this helpful You need someone who can install all the software even though you get some already loaded
It took my son 30mins to get just about any channel of any sky, BT or whatever package.
To run at its best you have to have over 10mbps broadband and pay a small fee per month(around £4) to get the connections fast.
Great picture 1080p, no lagging but you may get some with slow broadband.
So to round up
For £34 these are amazing for TV heads, just read online for the best add-on software and you are away.
