Easy setup, very accurate, relatively inexpensive.
1 of 1 found this helpful This product is easy to set up and is very accurate. Display is easy to read and has several options as far as how much time; hour, day, week, month, or year, the rainfall total represents. Gauge is not damaged by freezing, but may have to be cleaned periodically if leaves or other debris fall into it.
Cons include relatively short battery life for the sensor. The sensor is very lightweight and can blow over if not secured, or tipped over if attacked by devil squirrels. Requires 4 AA batteries, not included.
In addition, this purchase is for a replacement. My original rain gauge started losing connectivity with the base unit after a little more than a year, even though they were only about 20' apart through a patio door and in spite of new batteries. After many attempts to reset the units, where it would work for variable lengths of time, I gave up. The relatively low price caused me to take a chance on another one, which is working fine so far..

Professional grade at a resaonable price. All common functions plus. Very accurate.

True RMS measurements (required for measurements on motor speed frequency drives, electronic ballasts, rectified circuits, and other equipment using non-sinusoidal wave forms). Meter and test leads for measurements up to 1000V AC or DC. Type K bead probe for temperatures up to1500°F. Includes insulated color coded alligator clips, test lead protective covers, case, and batteries.
Manual or automatic ranging. Manual back light that auto shuts off in 3 min. Auto meter shutoff in 30 min unless deselected. Data min, max, relative, and hold function.
Only con is the included case which is not padded and does not have a pocket to hold the included accessories, although it will hold the test leads.

Exact replacement, OEM
This was a replacement for an existing remote that came with a Sony STR-K840P, which is an older digital home theater receiver. Will control a number of older components, but not a versatile as many of the newer universal remotes. May not work with some of the newer components. Very limited compatibility with DVD players. Programmed by inputting codes for different components. Cannot learn from other remotes, and so may not control all functions. Recommended as an OEM replacement remote.
