Fiddly latch mechanism
Top box seems like a good deal but when you look more closely it's pretty poorly manufactured, the plastic is quite flimsy, the reflector is just transparent red plastic clipped over a dimpled aluminium plate, not sure how reflective it would be. The base plate doesn't line up with the available bars on a Lexmoto rack so the fixing clips are all off kilter, also wouldn't trust the box to stay attached to the base plate much as it is easy to dislocate when trying to close the box. But the biggest gripe of all is the stupid plastic latch mechanism, it is very hot and miss as to whether you can get the latch to catch hold of the lid at all and takes a lot of fiddling and time to secure the lid closed, very frustrating and annoying, it's also a lock you can't take the key out of unless you lock it so it's not possible to just leave the box unlocked but closed!
All in all it looks like a good deal but is really annoying and poorly designed and wouldn't withstand any real effort to break it open due to cheap plastic latch and with the suspect base plate to top box engagement it might not still be with you when you arrive somewhere! I can't recommend this product at all, avoid!

Ok chain, rubbish lock
The chain seems to be okay and is reasonably substantial, it also has a nylon over sleeve to protect paintwork.
That's the good bit which is badly let down by a totally inadequate padlock which appears to be made of a light alloy body covered with a nasty plastic cover to hide how naff the lock is.
Upon unlocking the lock for the first time one of the ball bearings, that the hasp needs to retain it when locked, fell out, I then noticed that the keyhole cover was loose, due to the fact that it was held in place by a rivet that hadn't been formed properly, this then fell off on it's own accord.
I certainly would not recommend this lock and chain unless you are happy to throw away the the lock and replace it!
