Quiet and cool
I set mine up as a RAID 6 and this was achieved quickly through the very user friendly Synology assistant but the thing that struck me as outstanding is how quiet the the Synology DS1515+ is. In the past I have always put network equipment, especially servers in a seperate room for two reasons, Noise and Heat but I'm so impressed with this Server that I have it right on my desktop. It really is so quiet and cool that I wouldn't know it was there if not for the blinking LED's.
As far as performance goes it is as advertised and expected, fast and efficient. The Synology assistant is fantastic, I'm alerted to updates and any issue before it becomes a problem via email and or desktop message. This alows me the peace of mind knowing that I have a sentinel, remote access and that my data is safe and secure - what more could I ask for.
