Linear - Ideal for /P Operation
Supplier delivered in good time so no complaints. The linear itself is neatly put together and when strapped to the top of an Ft817 makes for a reasonably tidy package. It is supplied with both power lead, and an interface cable to enable tx [it is NOT RF sensing] which you must terminate either with the 6 pin FT817 ACC mating connector or a standard "stereo headset" style connector as required - again both are supplied. There is not a Rx pre-amp built in, which to me is a plus point as the FT817 already has more than sufficient gain - usually necessitating enabling the IPO option below the 30m band, this also means that with the MX-P50M switched off the FT817 o/p goes direct to the antenna without the necessity of disconnecting cables. Not yet sure of maximum power out, but running off a 12V7A SLAB at 3w i/p gives c25W o/p cw - ideal for /P operation. Absolutely no documentation with the unit but plenty of info' on line. All in All a worthwhile unit and recommended.

Decent Speaker
Used as replacement in FT817nd allowing space for Sotabeams Filter pcb. Works well with reasonable quality sound.

Does What it Says
Quality may not be what these items once were, but then the price is a fraction of what these used to cost. Does the job, very useful.
