Great router for those that don't yet need Wifi6

Although this might not be the newest Wifi6 router, it's got some great capabilities (e.g. dual firmware which allows you to switch back to previous versions if an upgrade goes sideways, 512MB RAM, MU-MIMO support) and is supported by alternative firmware like DD-WRT, OpenWRT and likely others.

Great router for running DD-WRT!

I now have two of these routers at home -- it has good range (maybe not the best, but solid), it runs DD-WRT quite well (which helps make it more useful than TPLink's stock firmware), and the price is right. The only caveat is that with the latest releases of TPLink's stock firmware, getting DD-WRT on this router was a bit more work.... I had to find a version of the TPLink firmware that effectively allowed unlocking the router and once that was loaded was able to install DD-WRT. Certainly more work than it took on the pre-existing C9 I already have in service, but with the help of the internet, totally doable.
