Nikon 28mm f2.8D AF
Because of zoom lenses, this focal length is not as popular as it was 30 years ago. The advantage of owning one of these lenses is you can count on it to produce excellent images at every f-stop and distance, and it's small enough to keep in a pocket. It's better than a zoom for wide field astrophotography. Many of the AF & AF-D version nikkors are prone to oil on the aperture blades, make sure you check with the seller before buying and avoid estate sales sellers (they know little about what they sell).
Nikon Nikkormat FT3 Film Camera

Nikkormat FT3
This was the last Nikkormat produced by Nikon 1977-1978. It is different from earlier models because of the way lenses meter couple. This model uses the AI style coupling pin vs the older model's prong. The light meter will work with every Nikon AI, AIs, AF/D lens. It will meter with the older prong lenses in a stopped down mode. AFS and Nikon lenses without aperture rings will not work. This camera was replaced my the FM model which was released about 1978. The FM is a lighter compact body. The advantage of the FT3 is it's very sturdy construction and it uses a battery that is still available. In general Nikkormat cameras have held up very well to the test of time compared to other brand cameras of its age. 9 out of 10 you'll find one with a working meter. But do read the fine print and buy one from a seller who will confirm that it works. Avoid the estate sellers who don't know how to test it, buy a good one. Research it first, serial number history came be found on the web. Consider where it is coming from. Avoid cameras coming from humid states or countries. I'm supposed to comment on image quality. This is a first rate semi-pro camera, but the final image depend solely on who is behind the camera. I highly recommend any of the Nikon 50mm normal lenses from f2 through f1.2. Since this model uses AI meter coupling, use it with AI or AIs lenses. These days film processing has gone down hill, for best results with film use a good lab or process negatives only (yourself if possible) and use a good dedicated film scanner like a Plustek (not a flat bed).

3 Rolls Kodak Ektar 100 Color Negative 35mm Print Film 36exp. Fresh Dated

Probably the best color print film left
There aren't as many films on the market as there was 20 years ago. Kids know nothing about film. Film is for us old nutsand curious 20+ year olds. Digital has surpassed film, yet film still has followers. Some claim it's better (they just don't know how to use photoshop), others like me use it for nostalgia, fun, or because they own 100 film cameras that are collecting dust. This film is the best color negative film on the market, period. It's sharp, reproduces colors very accurately, and has very fine grain. I use it it 35mm and 120 and can easily make a 16x20" print from a high res scan. I wish this film was around in the 1970's. If your still shooting film and have not tried it do so. But make sure you get professional photo processing or you wasted your money.
