Awesome a must for Blu-Ray, own it now!
I saw this movie in IMAX and the scenes were awesome, now that the blu ray is out they actually incorporate this in the movie. I'm not going to go on about the film itself but more of the tech side to it. Besides, Heath w/the Oscar was well deserved nuff said. I gotta tell ya the clarity of this film is great, and my TV isn't 1080p. This was my first movie I got in Blu ray format and it's perfect. The special BDLive function on the film I haven't taken advantage of yet but, I will figure it out soon. TrueHD is awesome as well you can really hear the intent of screwyness that Hans and Nolan had in mind for the joker music. Special features are also interesting, I can go on but just own it and make sure it's this version of the film, 2 disc SE.

Pearl Harbor
For a film to come out that is kinda sorta accurate and has some balls to NOT give a tribute to or a dedication to the fallen heroes of Pearl at the end of the movie is an insult to the film and to the veterans. Mike Bay is one of those guys who likes all this cool stuff with the cameras and angles and special effects but he totally missused his talent into making a love story out of this. Think "Titanic" without the boat in Hawaii. If you like that sorta thing by all means buy it. If you are a WWII buff like me, and you're looking for accuracy buy TORA!TORA!TORA! instead. The one thing that this movie has is the effects. As far as acting goes, the southern accents needed work or not even exist because they are horrible and annoying, everyone else did a good job. I wish they put more history of Cuba's Miller in there more for the history of him and what he did exactly. They have a directors cut of this movie that's a little more violent and has a extra scene or two and is almost 3hrs. long. The reason why I bring that up is the extra discs of content which explain what happened in real life and what should have been in the movie more. It also has the actors training in a "basic" type setting. Watching Affleck do pushups is laughable! Don't spend your hard earned money on this movie unless it's the directors cut. Borrow it from someone just to see it.

Awesome player best bang for buck
I got this to upgrade from the upconverter player which I thought was OK but to reserve my foot into the High Def. arena I got this one. Also, for the price of around $200 I couldn't pass it up. The features are good nothing spectacular, updating will take a bit of time but order the disc instead because it could get confusing. Ok, I know it takes a long time to warm up, but it's well worth it. No return to spot where you left off feature though. That's ok, that's why there are bookmarks for HD movies. One note though, this player is really sensitive. I mean any little scratch or speck on the disc it will either not play or skip ahead a few seconds so clean your discs before putting any in, and when you do clean them brush out towards you instead of the circular motion. Anyway, this player is way better than my upconverter, plus this A35 has HDMI digital out setting which is a must for the audiophiles like me that have really nice receivers, (Denon, Yamaha, etc.) so find a great deal here on Ebay now before they become extinct.
