We love Satchmo
Louis Armstrong, a jazz genius, tells uf of his early life in New Orleans, life amidst poverty and Jim Crow discrimination, yet loves everybody no matter the color of people's skin but, most of all, he loves making people happy when he blows his trumpet. Lovely man, lovely music. The book is also a history of jazz as it unfolded from Louisiana to the entire country and, ultimately the world. Highly recommended. Thank you, Satchmo! We love you.

George Smith's The Chaldean Account of Genesis
Fascinating book published in 1876, thus superseded by modern research and yet an important personal account. George Smith writes about his own participation in the early decipherments of cuneiform clay tablets dating back more than three thousand years to Sumerian, Akkadian, and Hittite records, with emphasis on their influence in the writing of Genesis. I read it in a couple of days and now I am searching in eBay looking for other books on Babylon, Uruk, and Nineveh. It's all Smith's fault. My book order was delivered promptly and well-packaged. Thank you!

Noel Mostert's The Line Upon a Wind--amazing book!
Years ago I read Mostert's book titled FRONTIERS (1992), and learned so much about the history of South Africa, its native peoples, and colonization by the Dutch and British in early colonial history. This second book, The Line Upon a Wing, covers the history of maritime expansion--colonial, mercantile--over the world's oceans by the British and the French before and after U.S. Independence and the French Revolution. I am halfway the book and remain marveled by Mostert's research and capacity to synthesize so much knowledge, written with style and insight. The book was in like-new condition, as advertised, and packaged professionally. A trustworthy seller! Thank you.
