A Useful Introduction
I thought this book provides a good, readable general introduction to Macroeconomics. It is well laid out and subdivided into a logical sequence of chapters. I found the repeated references backwards and forwards a bit irritating at times. It deals with conventional Macroeconomics only, and therefore is worth reading in conjunction with more critical works such as Steve Keen's Debunking Economics.

Good First Impressions
I decided to buy an Omron monitor after reading Which Reviews that gave it the highest rating for accuracy. It arrived in a robust plastic box within a cardboard box, with instructions in separate languages so those not required can be easily binned. The instructions are clear and detailed.
After putting the batteries in, I fitted the monitor at the recommended location on my wrist using the tough velcro strap and holding my wrist in the advised position, pressed the Start/Stop button. A motor inflates the wrist strap in a few seconds and the reading is recorded. Instructions are to take the average of three readings a few minutes apart. Everything seems to work well.
I haven't checked the results against a G.P. approved reading so cannot comment on the accuracy, although the results look to be as I had expected.
The manufacturer advises that the device should be returned every two years for re-calibration (no indication as to cost).
