Harpooned!
Terror in a Texas Town is a 1958 American Western film directed by Joseph H. Lewis and starring Sterling Hayden, Nedrick Young, and Sebastian Cabot. This is a brilliantly dark film. In fact it is listed on Wikipedia as a Western Film Noir. Sterling Hayden is one brutal leading man. Well worth your time if you like Western Noir like Pursued and Blood on the Moon.

The One-And-Only Miss Shearer
Gavin Lambert is a wonderful biographer. He interviewed Norma Shearer for this well-written history of her film career and the Golden Age of Hollywood. Highly recommended, as are his books on Natalie Wood and George Cukor. If you are a devoted TCM viewer you'll enjoy this book.

Mister Astaire Admired Him
Jack Lemmon is probably the finest screen actor of his time. He could, and did, play everything from comedy (Some Like It Hot 1959, The Apartment 1960) to dramas (Days of Wine and Roses 1962 and Glengarry Glen Ross 1992). Jack won two Academy Awards: 1956 Best Supporting Actor for Mister Roberts and Best Actor for Save the Tiger (1974).
He was also nominated as Best Actor for Some Like It Hot, The Apartment, The Days of Wine and Roses, The China Syndrome, Tribute and Missing. He won five Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy. In 1996 he was a Kennedy Center Honoree.
He was nominated for a spoken word Grammy and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Like all genuinely accomplished actors, Mr. Lemmon's roots and training were in the theatre. His Broadway appearances include: 1953 Room Service as Leo Davis, 1960 Face of a Hero as David Poole, 1978 Tribute as Scottie Templeton and 1986 Long Day's Journey into Night as James Tyrone.
As a singer/pianist Jack recorded: A Twist of Lemmon (Eic, 1958), Some Like It Hot (1959), Jack Lemmon Plays Piano Selections from "Irma La Douce" (Capitol, 1963), Piano and Vocals (1990) and Peter and the Wolf (1991). Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his friendship with America's preeminent song and dance man, Mister Fred Astaire. If Mr. Astaire admires you you're talented.
