I have used Dri Slide for 40+ years to lubricate my motorcycle control cables. Using the needle inserted between the inner and outer cable, I can inject a liberal amount of lubricant that penetrates all the way through the cable. Simply angle the handlebars to use gravity to your advantage and position a paper towel at each end of the cable to catch the excess.
Should the needle, which is very narrow, become obstructed by crud from inside the cable, simply unscrew it and shoot a little brake cleaner through it (after using eye protection of course)..
